Chelsea FC back to their winning ways

I am not sure what was wrong recently with the guys but we were not playing as a team, certainly not against Villa where we lost for the second game in a row.

Thankfully last night we were back, with a vengeance, beating Atletico Madrid 4 - 0, with Lamps back on the score sheet and two from Kalou and an own goal in the 90th minute gave us a definitive victory - much needed after two below par games.

You can read the full match report here. I will never question the managers judgement nor the Captains, I believe there is no one better than John Terry but they both have to find ways of motivating the boys when we are playing poorly.

I am happy for the team and manager that we are now on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League, I really am, however I want us back on the top of the Premier League and to win that title more.

So, bring on Blackburn next week and let's stay in our winning ways Chelsea.

John Terry to stay at the Bridge

I have to be honest, I never thought the god that is John Terry was leaving Stamford Bridge and especially to go to Manchester City.

Today JT has decided to announce his commitment to Chelsea here on the BBC website.

Here is John Terry's statement today;

'There has been a lot of speculation recently about my future and I want to clear this up once and for all. I am totally committed to Chelsea and always have been. Chelsea have also made it clear to me consistently that there was never any intention to accept any kind of offer.

'When you are linked with any club, or with a manager who I have huge respect for, it will always make headlines but me leaving Chelsea was never a possibility.

'I know there has been comment that I should have made a statement earlier. However, throughout this period there have been numerous discussions between myself, the owner and the Chelsea Board and we all agreed that the timing of any statement would suit everyone involved in those talks, not any outside influences or agendas.

'What is clear to me following those discussions is that Chelsea's ambition remains as high as ever.This has been further proved by the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti. I am certain that he will take this club on to the next level.

'Another important factor was knowing that Chelsea would be securing key current players for the long term. The strengthening of the squad around this core is crucial to pushing us onto greater success.

'I am as committed as ever to helping drive Chelsea forward and I will be proud to lead the team for as long as I can.'
