BNP close to extinction as Richard Barnbrook resigns

Firstly we had the resignation of Lee Barnes the BNP legal officer, then mass suspensions of members and senior party officers mainly for supporting other people prepared to stand as leader against Nick Griffin, accusations of bankruptcy and now Richard Barnbrook, the BNP London Assembly Member has resigned and will sit as an independent.

Not that it changes his right wing views of course, nor to be honest will anyone really notice.

But Andrew Gilligan has the story.

Richard Barnbrook, the BNP’s London leader and its representative on the London Assembly, has today resigned the BNP label and will sit on the Assembly as an independent, I understand. This follows his sacking as the BNP’s Barking and Dagenham organiser three weeks ago after the party’s dismal performance in the May local elections.

Not very much noticed, the BNP is going through one of its periods of turmoil after its poor national election results in May, with Nick Griffin, its leader, fending off another leadership challenge this week.

Lee Barnes really lets the cat out of the bag and dishes the dirt on Nick Griffin and the BNP with statements such as;

"Bankruptcy of the party will have very serious implications for the BNP membership.

"If the party is made bankrupt then the BNP membership as a whole will be directly financially liable for its outstanding debts as an unincorporated association and not Nick Griffin or Jim Dowson.

"This is because Nick Griffin has no assets and Jim Dowsons financial assets are probably hidden away in some Spanish or Swiss bank account outside the UK."

Lee Barnes goes onto add;

"As far as I am aware the party is now technically insolvent.
"Outstanding court costs, wages bills, election expenses and also forthcoming legal cases against the party mean the BNP is now technically bankrupt."

And at the very end he quits as the legal officer and member of the BNP.

Although, what will happen to all those right wing facist and racist thugs across the country who remain members of the BNP, it will be great to see the BNP collapse but then where they will go?

Nick Griffin claims BNP are more gay friendly but finds gays "creepy"

Over on Pink News, they are covering Iain Dale's interview with Nick Griffin for Total Politics (no it isn't an Iain Dale and Pink News love fest).

So, the new gay friendly BNP want to ban civil partnerships, only allow gay couples to adopt if the childrens homes are full and wants to ban the promotion of homosexuality in schools.

So, the BNP want to follow the Conservative lead and introduce it's own Section 28?

Nick Griffin said this of homosexuality itself;

"It's unfamiliar, it’s odd and I’m afraid it is creepy. Grown men kissing in public is creepy to most people. You don’t often see it but if you do see it, it’s not a matter of homophobia, it’s odd and you have to explain it to little kids and so on – that’s strange."

Everyone else manages to explain these things okay, you can just say they love each other, isn't that enough?

he said: "Marriage is only between a man and a women and ideally with kids."

He then went onto explain;

it was "better if two gay men are in a stable relationship rather than cottaging all over the place"

Oh Mr Griffin, if only.  Honestly, what a pathetic statement to make.

On gay adoption, he said that he would be "inclined to agree" with gay couples adopting, but only "if we reach the stage where there are so many children in children’s homes that you run out of would-be adopted ideal families".

So, that is Mr Griffin, leader of the right wing BNP party explaining how his party is gay friendly.

What a load of round shaped spheres, with brass tacks on.  Your party is as homophobic now as it ever has been.

It's okay everyone, Nick Griffin and his thugs still run the BNP

For those people who were listening to the news yesterday and heard that the BNP were now prepared to accept non-whites into their organisation and that the world was somehow popping off its axis, it's okay, everything is back to normal.

At the Emergency General meeting of the BNP in Hornchurch, Essex which had been called following the decision by the courts that the BNP membership rules were not complying with British law, the decision was made to accept non-whites, as long as they agree that this country should stay British.

The BNP had also invited journalists to the EGM, maybe to boost the numbers, however just before Nick Griffin was due to speak one of the officials and BNP Councillor Richard Barnbrook decided they no longer wanted Dominic Kennedy, Investigations Editor of The Times in the meeting because they were upset or offended by a piece that Dominic had written in the Times on Saturday just a week before.

"The Times had been invited by Simon Darby, the party's press officer, with other media, to hear Mr Griffin describe the constitutional changes."

It then transpores that Dominic defended why he was there stating he had been invited by the BNP's own press officer, but to no avail, he was manhandled out of the room by the thugs.

Mr Griffin said The Times had lied about the party. He said: “Because he is from The Times, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, and it lies and it lies and it lies about this party.

“So he [Dominic Kennedy] was told ’we’re sorry, you told one lie too many’, The Times, so we are not allowing anyone from The Times in – kindly leave.

“He refused to leave when he was asked so he had to be encouraged to leave.”

This utterley appalling behaviour shows that the BNP is still controlled by Griffin and his thugs, just because a journalist has written a story about the desparation and rubbish coming our of Barnbrook's mouth while on a recent visit with him in Barking he gets attacked and thrown out.

The worst part of the story in the Times on Saturday for me was that UKIP launched their campaign inviting Griffin to a fist fight, this just shows that not only are the BNP unfit for any office, but obviously so are UKIP - who at the launch of their campaign for the Barking constituency spelt Britain incorrectly, although to be fair, at least they launched it in Barking unlike the BNP, who launched it in Dagenham, which is in fact in the neighbouring constituency!
Long may Dominic Kennedy continue to highlight these thugs that call themselves a political party and I hope he wasn't hurt when thrown out of the BNP meeting.

BNP Leader Nick Griffin fails to show in Glasgow North East after being pelted with eggs

So, where the English failed at the Question Time event, the Scots stopped Nick Griffin appearing with his racist candidate, Charlie Baillie standing in the Glasgow North East by-election.

Nick Griffin was due with Charlie at the Springburn Shopping Centre today to meet people in Glasgow North East, thankfully for them Nick Griffin was "held up" after being pelted with eggs by a crowd of around 40 demonstrators who were there to greet him at the HQ of L107 Radio in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.

Nick Griffin took part in the Lanarkshire station’s Music and Talk Show, hosted by James Russell this morning and L107 programme director Derek McIntyre defended the decision to have the BNP leader on but admitted it was “commercial suicide”.

He said: “We have received 50 emails this morning from people withdrawing their support for the station and two or three advertisers have said they are pulling out.”

I disagree with Derek McIntyre because the BNP have no elected representatives here in Scotland so he did not need to allow Griffin on but that is obviously his choice, although when a broadcast decision affects your advertising in a negative way, then I suspect the shareholders may also have a few.

I hope the eggs were battery and not free range, I would hate to see good food wasted.
