Chris Bryant MP tells Sky's Kay Burley she's a bit dim

As everyone knows, I am no fan of Labour or the Labour Party, however I do have time for Chris Bryant MP - yes, he is in my opinion the best looking MP in the Commons.

To add balance, I have no time whatsoever for Kay Burley, she does not get the situations she is placed in by her employers.

Now you have done that you can watch this one, where Kay Burley is interviewing (badly) Chris Bryant MP and see Chris attack Kay even calling her a bit dim.

Kay Burley is clearly out of her depth, yet again.  When will Sky act?

Tony Blair pelted with shoes and eggs

As Tony Blair appears in the political spotlight once more, to launch his pension collection book, A Journey: My Political Life.

The reception he received in Ireland was not quite what he had expected, his security team (which we are still paying for) kept him in the car until they had put up their missile blocking special shields - umbrellas - and then he suddenly appeared surrounded spectacularly by about 8 or nine of his protection team.

Given he was doing a public book signing and there did appear to be a lengthy queue, one can only assume that they were either invited from a special list or screened in advance and then searched on the day.

Again, I am assuming that we the taxpayer are funding all of this additional security on top of what we are paying for as the basic protection for Blair as the former warmongering Prime Minister?

As I blogged last December - Protecting Tony Blair - who should pay the £115,000 each week? - I still believe now as I did then that Tony Blair should contribute towards the security costs when the event or trip he is on is personal, such as a book signing!

He is a top terrorist target because he took us into an illegal war in Iraq, a war that he believed we should have taken part in, whatever the reason, so therefore he must pay his share of the personal events, if he is on Government business then we pick up the tab for him as every former Prime Minister.
 

Adam Boulton gets a dose of his own medicine and doesn't like it

Last weekend we saw Kay Burley interviewing bullying a protestor live on Sky News.

Last night we saw Adam Boulton get very angry with Alistair Campbell for telling him what he thought!

Is this not what Adam Boulton does to politicians and others every day of the week?



My own view on this is this, we have a group of political editors/commentators who have become a little bit to big for their boots and think the show is about them.  I am afraid Adam Boulton is one of those, he like others should take a few lessons from David Dimbleby.

Anyway for now, enjoy Adam Boulton's moment of madness, this was definitely one nil to Alistair Campbell.

Sky News Kay Burley - reporter, presenter, journalist or bully?

With my mood and feelings being a little flat today I had only been on Twitter via my Blackberry and had only heard about Sky News presenters Kay Burley interview with one of the Smith Square protestors.

Many thanks to Cat Turner for recently putting up the link so I could sit and watch it.

I am not flat any more, I am now very angry after watching this video of Sky News Kay Burley interviewing shouting at bullying one of the protestors.

It was not an interview, it was not investigative journalism, it was an unprofessional presenter trying to be something she shouldn't be - a bully.

So, if like me you are annoyed with this treatment of a protestor then you should contact the following people and tell them what you think of Kay Burley's interview today;

Leaders TV debate - Salmond can go kiss ass

So, Sky News launch a campaign to have a televised Leaders debate for the General Election. Absolutely fantastic and about bloody time.

John Ryley, the head of Sky News, wrote to the Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Conservative leader David Cameron and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg to invite them to take part telling them all that faith in politics and politicians has been shaken, and a debate during the forthcoming election campaign would offer a unique opportunity to re-engage disillusioned voters.

Nick Clegg and David Cameron have already replied saying yes.

I am completely for this and always have been. I have signed the online petition already and ask all my readers to sign it here.

So, it all appears quite normal and then up pops Alex Salmond demanding a spot on the TV debate for the Leaders. Alex Salmond is a complete egomaniac in every sense, I saw him operate during the 2007 elections so am not entirely surprised, but he will have no right up there.

This debate is about the Leaders of the three main Parties, those who are going to play a key part in the next Government. The next Government is very likely to be formed by either Labour or the Tories (god help us). With the Lib Dems only having 63 MPs it will be too big a leap this time perhaps, although given how poorly the Labour Party are doing governing the country, who knows?

However, in the event that we have a hung Parliament, it will be Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats who will have the balance of power not the SNP or the MSP Alex Salmond!

So Alex, no, you shouldn't be on the televised Leaders debate. I understand he is not ruling out court action to get his way, what a bloody pathetic response. If you can't take the heat.......
