1967 - The Boston Strangler (Albert DeSalvo), is given a life sentence for assault and armed robbery.
1972 - Rhodesia's former leader, Garfield Todd and his daughter, Judith, were arrested.
1981 - Nine people were killed in a New Cross (London) House fire.
1991 - Iraqi Scud missiles hit Israel in Gulf War.
2009 - Tony Hart dies at the age of 83. A sad day, I remember as a kid Morph, living in his pencil box. RIP Tony Hart.
